European Air Refuelling Training (EART) exercise

Latest update: October 2021

The European Air Refuelling Training (EART) is an exercise organized by the European Air Transport Command (EATC). Its first edition was held in 2014 at Eindhoven Air Base. EART ran alongside the Royal Netherlands Air Force exercise Frisian Flag. From the start it was planned to organize an EART at another base in Europe. But until 2019 only one exercise a year was held. These were all held at Eindhoven air base.

EART 2020 was planned to take place in Spain (October 17 until October 30) but was cancelled due to COVID-19. In 2021 EART was organized at Lanzarote air base, Spain in October.

Comments:

2018:

Prior to the exercise the Italian Air Force cancelled its participation. The French Air Force C-135FR flew the first mission of EART 2018 and then departed back home. Two days later also the USAFE KC-135R left without any mission flown. Both were re-tasked to operational missions.

2014:

The Italian Air Force only participated for one week.
